Great, and if you do get stuck anywhere, we're here to help-- either here or by email and/or contact form. My best guess is that if you can fix that one transistor and install the remaining parts, you'll be up and running (or at least very close to …
First, yes, we can help you get it to work. You have a lot of questions here, so I'll try to take them (more or less) one at a time.
I can see why it isn't working, but please do not plug it into power again until you've both fixed what's wrong and…
No, not by (for example) typing on the keyboard. Any kind of single-stroke text that you create (either by capturing handwritten text or using Hershey Text) is actually a set of paths. You can edit those paths by using the various path editing tools…
Please contact technical support for mounting drawings. (I would also note that we generally recommend keeping the outrigger feet for added stability, and putting screws through the provided holes in those feet. The feet are there, in part, to make …
As it says on the software installation page, "please follow the instructions below, and then contact us for an updated configuration file that will allow your AxiDraw to access the full plotting area." So, please use the contact form, and we can se…
It is a capability that we are working towards. In the mean time, we'd suggest that you follow one of the supported methods from our documentation:
Use regular fonts, but use thin fonts and a broad-nibbed pen, which can hide the double-stroke aspe…
"or there is no such possibility and AxiDraw v 2 can not write as a person large volumes of text ???????"
The function of the AxiDraw is to plot the vector outlines that you provide to it. If you provide large volumes of text in an appropriate form…
Regular fonts cannot do this: They are outlines.
The Hershey Font format can be used to make custom fonts, but we are not providing support for adding custom fonts yet. (That is a project that is currently underway.)
Here is one example of someone…
You have already posted this in a separate topic, and we have already answered you there. You have also written to us directly by e-mail, and we have answered you there as well.
The answer is unchanged: You are using outline fonts, and they have ou…
The fonts that you are using are made of outlines; there is no center line within them. This is normal and expected behavior.
Hershey Text does not use regular outline fonts, but does have a very limited set of available styles and characters.

The error that you're seeing reflects the software not being fully installed (only certain components are installed on your computer) -- if everything is installed correctly, and it can't find the EggBot, it will say so directly.
It sounds like you don't have the full set of software installed. I'd recommend running the EggBot installer for Windows, available here:
https://github.com/evil-mad/EggBot/releases/download/v2.5.0/EggBot_250A.exe
Please try downloading a fresh copy of XQuartz ( https://www.xquartz.org ) and run the installer. Restart your computer after installing, and run any available OS updates before trying to open XQuartz.
To open XQuartz (not Inkscape) for the first t…
It's perfectly fine to install the older version, including the UBW driver, on Windows 10.
Windows version before 10 absolutely positively would not work without the driver, but Windows 10 will almost always work without it.
(We have seen a few ca…
Hi James,
Please try Inkscape 0.91, as per EggBot installation instructions. We have had many reports of 0.92 not working correctly.
Make sure that you've run the EggBot software installer, as it installs a USB driver.
For the first one, it sounds like you just need to delete the original rectangle after creating the fill. Select the filled object, then Object > Ungroup to separate the two. Select just the outer rectangle and delete it. (It's sometimes a little…
Here is one that we've written that will make some significant "first pass" optimization of path order: https://github.com/evil-mad/axidraw/issues/4#issuecomment-272845935
(We're actively working on the next revision of this, and hope to release it…
Sure. Start with the text, ideally a little larger, bolder, than you need the final shapes to be. Convert the text to paths, and use the boolean operations (boolean difference, for example: http://write.flossmanuals.net/start-with-inkscape/boolea…
Sounds like you might be running into the brownout detection feature. I'd check the values of those fuse bits, and compare them to your power supply behavior.
If XY movement is working well but Z is not, and the cabling is good, then it is most likely the case that the servo motor itself has failed. Please contact our store directly ( http://shop.evilmadscientist.com/contact ) about a replacement and we'l…
